Start here: study NIEVA inside your AI assistant
The NIEVA connector gives your AI assistant (Claude, Claude Code and others) access to the academy's open courses. You can:
- Search by meaning: ask in your own words and find the exact lesson.
- Read the full lesson: complete text and code, no summaries.
- Study with Angel: it proposes the guides that teach your topic and takes you through a whole guide, lesson by lesson, with a progress board so you can pick up whenever you want.
- Apply it to your project in the same chat.
No tokens or keys: copy one address and sign in with your NIEVA account.
The golden rule: start every chat by naming the connector, for example "Use the NIEVA connector and help me study Terraform". If you don't, your assistant may answer from memory without opening the lessons.
What it does not do: it can't see your personal data or payments, can't open bootcamp workbooks and can't change anything. It's read-only.
Your account includes up to 300 lookups and 100 lessons a day.

Connect Claude (desktop app or claude.ai)
- Open Claude and go to Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Enter:
- Name:
NIEVA - MCP server URL:
https://nieva.team/api/mcp
- Name:
- Click Continue. On the next screen keep the options Claude marks as "Detected":
- Authentication: Sign in now
- OAuth client: Use Claude's published identity
- Click Add, then Connect.
- Your browser opens. Sign in with your NIEVA account. You'll see "Connect Claude to NIEVA" with a Verified app badge. Click Allow.
- You're back in Claude with NIEVA connected.
To use it, open a new chat and start by naming the connector, for example "Use the NIEVA connector and search for lessons about RAG". The tools only read, so you can set them to "Always allow".
Whatever you connect on claude.ai also shows up in the desktop app and on mobile.
Connect Claude Code
- In your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http nieva https://nieva.team/api/mcp - Open Claude Code (
claude), type/mcp, pick nieva, then Authenticate. - Your browser opens: sign in with your NIEVA account and click Allow.
- Done. Try: "Use NIEVA to explain dependency injection in FastAPI and apply it to this project."
To make it available in every project, add --scope user to the step 1 command.
Study with Angel
Angel is NIEVA's AI teacher. It teaches in the style of Miguel Ángel, NIEVA's founder: the whole system first, a diagram, an everyday analogy and questions to check it clicked.
How to start: in a new chat, write for example:
Use the NIEVA connector and help me study Terraform.
- Angel finds the guides that teach the topic, proposes 2 to 4 with their level and number of lessons, and recommends one.
- It asks how you want to study: the whole guide, only the lessons on that topic, or one specific question.
- If you pick the whole guide, it sets up your course board (an artifact in Claude, a file in your folder in Claude Code, a canvas in ChatGPT) with the syllabus, your progress and your notes, and starts lesson by lesson.
- Between lessons you can ask anything, paste screenshots or code, ask to jump to the hands-on part, or ask for an interview-style answer.
To pick up another day: open a new chat and write "Use the NIEVA connector and continue my Terraform course", with your board at hand. Angel continues at the first unchecked lesson.
In Claude they're also in NIEVA's + menu: Course with Angel (a whole guide) and Learn with Angel (one lesson).
Every lesson Angel reads counts toward your daily cap of 100. Angel is an AI, and will tell you so if you ask.
Ideas to try
Copy and paste any of these:
- "Search NIEVA for how dependency injection works in FastAPI and explain it with an example."
- "Read NIEVA's lesson on CORS and tell me why my frontend says
failed to fetch." - "Build me a 2-week study plan to learn RAG with NIEVA's lessons."
- "Using what NIEVA teaches about vector databases, review this code and tell me what you'd improve."
- "Using NIEVA's lesson on Git, ask me 5 technical-interview questions."
- "Summarize in a table the differences between the design patterns NIEVA explains."
- "Use the NIEVA connector and help me study Terraform."
Troubleshooting
- It answered without using NIEVA. If you don't see NIEVA's tool in the reply, it answered from memory. Ask again starting with "Use the NIEVA connector…" and check that NIEVA is on in that chat.
- NIEVA doesn't show up in the tools menu. Check under Settings → Connectors that it says "Connected". If it says "Connect", click it and sign in again.
- It asks me to sign in again. That happens if you disconnected the app from your profile or haven't used it in a long while. Connect again.
- "Daily limit reached". You hit today's cap (300 lookups or 100 lessons). It resets within 24 hours.
- "The academy's connector is busy". Many people are using it at once. Wait a few seconds and ask the same thing again.
- I asked for my bootcamp workbook and got "Course not found". That's expected: workbooks stay in your bootcamp dashboard.
- I don't see "Add custom connector". Your Claude plan needs to allow custom connectors.
- I want to disconnect it. In your NIEVA profile, under Connected apps, click Disconnect.
